Deep Cleaning vs Standard Cleaning: What Is the Difference?
This is the question we hear most often, and it matters because it decides what you should book. A standard cleaning maintains a home that is already in decent shape. A deep cleaning restores one that has drifted: the rental you just took over, the kitchen that has quietly built up grease since winter, the bathroom grout that no longer looks like grout. Here is how the two compare in practice.
| Area | Standard Cleaning | Deep Cleaning |
|---|---|---|
| Kitchen | Counters, sink, stovetop surface, exterior of appliances, floors | Everything in standard, plus degreasing backsplash and range hood, cabinet fronts, under small appliances; inside fridge and oven available as add-ons |
| Bathrooms | Toilet, tub, shower, sink, mirror, floors | Everything in standard, plus scale removal on fixtures and glass, grout lines, tile detail, exhaust vent cover, behind the toilet |
| Bedrooms & living areas | Dusting reachable surfaces, floors, tidying | Everything in standard, plus baseboards, door frames and doors, light fixtures, switch plates, window sills and tracks, under and behind furniture we can safely move |
| Details | Not included | Vents, ceiling corners and cobwebs, spot-cleaning scuffs; interior windows and full walls-and-doors washing available as add-ons |
| Best for | Homes cleaned regularly, recurring plans | First visits, spring cleaning, move-ins, post-renovation dust, homes overdue for attention |
Rule of thumb: if it has been more than two or three months since a professional clean, book the deep clean. If we arrive to a standard booking that really needs deep-clean time, we will tell you honestly before starting rather than rushing a job that cannot be rushed.
Our Room-by-Room Deep Cleaning Checklist
Every deep clean follows a written checklist, so you know exactly what you are paying for and nothing depends on memory or mood. Here is how our team works through a Vancouver home, whether it is a Yaletown one-bedroom or a family house in Burnaby.
Kitchen
Degrease the stovetop, backsplash, and range hood. Wipe cabinet fronts and handles, clean counters and sink to a shine, polish appliance exteriors, clean under toasters and kettles, empty and wipe the bin area, then finish with a detailed floor clean including edges and corners. Add inside-the-fridge and inside-the-oven service to make it complete.
Bathrooms
Remove soap scum and hard-water scale from glass, tile, and fixtures. Scrub grout lines, disinfect the toilet inside and out including the base and behind, detail the vanity and mirror, wipe the exhaust fan cover, and wash the floor by hand where machines cannot reach. Your first bathroom is included in the price; each extra bathroom adds just $10.
Bedrooms & Living Areas
Dust from the top down: light fixtures, ceiling corners, shelves, and decor before the floors. Wipe baseboards, doors, door frames, and switch plates. Clean window sills and tracks, vacuum under and behind furniture we can safely move, and finish floors with an edge-to-edge vacuum and mop.
Details & Add-Ons
Vents, cobwebs, scuff marks, and the little things that make a home feel genuinely reset. Popular deep-clean add-ons: inside fridge ($30), inside oven ($35), interior windows ($60), and a full walls-and-doors wash ($150 for 1 to 2 bedroom homes, $200 for 3 or more). Pick them online when you book.

Deep Cleaning Power, Without the Harsh Chemicals
Deep cleaning is where many companies quietly reach for the strongest chemicals on the shelf. We do not. Eco Clean Pro was founded by Asiya Mawzoon, an immigrant entrepreneur who built the company around two convictions: clean should never come at the cost of the people breathing the air afterwards, and the people doing the work deserve to be trained well and paid fairly. Many of our cleaners are newcomers to Canada getting their first local work experience, and they are trained on our checklist from day one.
Eco-friendly degreasers and descalers that handle ovens and grout without harsh fumes.
No residues you need to worry about on floors little hands and paws touch.
Fully insured, WorkSafeBC registered, and every cleaner background-checked.
Not satisfied? Tell us within 24 hours and we return to re-clean the area free.
This matters most on deep cleans because of the sheer surface area involved. When every baseboard, cabinet front, and tile line in your home has just been wiped, you want to know what it was wiped with. Our products are tough on grease and scale but safe around kids, pets, and anyone sensitive to fumes. If eco-friendly cleaning is your main reason for choosing a company, our eco-friendly cleaning in Vancouver page covers our approach in full.
When a Deep Clean Is the Right Call
Some homes need a deep clean on a calendar; others need one because life just happened. These are the moments Vancouver clients book us most.
- Before recurring service starts. A deep clean sets the baseline, then weekly or bi-weekly visits maintain it at a discount. It is the single best-value sequence we offer.
- Moving in. Start fresh in a space someone else lived in. If you are leaving a rental and want your deposit protected too, our move-out cleaning in Vancouver is priced at 1.5x the one-time rate and built for inspections.
- Spring cleaning. After a long, wet Vancouver winter of closed windows, a full spring deep clean clears out months of accumulated dust and buildup in one visit.
- After illness. A detailed clean of high-touch surfaces, bathrooms, and bedrooms helps a household reset after everyone has finally recovered.
- Before hosting. A pre-event deep clean means the week of your dinner party, birthday, or family visit is spent cooking and planning, not scrubbing grout.
- Post-renovation dust. Fine construction dust settles everywhere and keeps reappearing for weeks unless it is removed methodically, surface by surface.

Vancouver Deep Cleaning FAQs
What is included in a deep cleaning vs a standard cleaning?
A standard cleaning covers the surfaces you use every week: kitchens, bathrooms, floors, dusting, and general tidying. A deep cleaning starts with all of that and then goes after the spots a routine visit skips, like baseboards, door frames, light fixtures, cabinet fronts, grout lines, vents, and the buildup behind and under furniture we can safely move. Popular add-ons take it further: inside the fridge, inside the oven, interior windows, and a full wipe-down of walls and doors. If your home has not had a professional clean in a few months, a deep clean is the right starting point.
How much does a deep clean cost in Vancouver?
We price deep cleans as a one-time cleaning by bedroom count: $130 for one bedroom, $180 for two, $250 for three, $320 for four, and $390 for five. The first bathroom is included, and each additional bathroom adds $10. Most deep cleans add interior extras such as inside the fridge ($30), inside the oven ($35), interior windows ($60), or walls and doors ($150 for 1 to 2 bedroom homes, $200 for larger). You see your exact total online before you book, and BC's 12% GST and PST is added at checkout.
How long does a deep cleaning take?
It depends on the size and condition of your home. As a rough guide, a one-bedroom condo usually takes three to five hours, while a three or four bedroom house can take most of a day, especially with add-ons like inside the oven or interior windows. Homes that have not been professionally cleaned in a long time sit at the higher end of those ranges. We would rather take the time to do it properly than rush, and our 24-hour re-clean promise stands behind the result.
Do I need a deep clean before starting recurring service?
We recommend it in most cases. A recurring visit is scoped to maintain a home that is already at a good baseline, so starting with a deep clean means every later visit keeps you at that level instead of chasing old buildup. Once you switch to a recurring plan, you also save on every visit: 15% off with weekly service, 12% off bi-weekly, and 8% off monthly, all calculated from our one-time prices. Many Vancouver clients book a deep clean first, then move straight onto a bi-weekly plan.
Are your deep-cleaning products safe for pets and kids?
Yes. We use eco-friendly, non-toxic products on every job, including the degreasers and descalers we rely on for oven interiors, stovetops, tile, and bathroom fixtures. There are no harsh chemical fumes hanging in the air after we leave, which matters in smaller Vancouver condos and in homes with crawling babies, curious cats, or dogs who lick everything. If anyone in your household has allergies or sensitivities, mention it when you book and we will plan the visit around it.
